Ridin' the Raps

Well, here's something else I had never done before! The Boy Scouts of America graciously offered United Way some seats on one of their white water rafting tours, and we took advantage! Clayton and I took the trip with David and Joy Stone -- Joy is our Community Impact Director, and David is a CPA. They have been friends of ours since we moved here. We went to the New River in Fayetteville, West Virginia, and spent about 5 hours on (or in) the river. There was a great mixture of calm water and rapids (including a couple of Class 5's).

We took a couple of disposable waterproof cameras, and here ya go.

Here's me blinding everyone with my legs.

Dave and Joy enjoying a swim

This shot is hilarious. Our guide took the shot while navigating us to the brink of death on this Class 4!

On calmer waters

Here's Dave leading us on (OK, he's not really leading, but he can tell his friends he was).

Our most awesome guide, Jamie

Just about to drop down on a fun one!

Then we turned around and took this shot of another raft on the same rapid.

The water was a great place to rest.

Me and Clayton, in front of the bridge we drove over to get there.

Here's Joy letting the current take her in front of the boat

OK, now this is the second time I've posted a comment on your blog and it disappeared! What the heck?!!!

I wrote this whole comment about how this was great father/son bonding and how Clayton looks really young in that picture of him in the boat and how he reminds me so much of you. And it was posted, but now it's not!

Oh well, whatever. Cool photos.
